Pripjat is a planned city. In 1966, after the verdict of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union started to build the new city for the employees and their family members of new nuclear power station. Named after the nearby Pripyat River, Pripyat was founded on 4 February 1970, the ninth nuclear city in the Soviet Union, for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Popolation reached 49.400 in mid-eighties, but 26th of april 1986, after 1 AM inhabitants heard a massive detonation from the Chernobyl power plant...

traurig was heute von prypjat übrig geblieben ist..einst so wunderschoen und dann so tragisch für immer ausgelöscht..ich finde kaum worte für das was dort in tschernobyl geschehn ist..!!
